Thank you for stopping by! My name is Hilary Schaefer and I am a wife and mama to two sweet girls. I have been saved by grace and am passionate about helping others overcome obstacles to become their best self. As a mom, I have learned that we often do not take enough time for ourselves. We constantly help others and take care of our children and spouse but are often lacking energy at the end of the day to care of ourselves. In reality, I have recognized that just taking 30-40 minutes a day for ourselves is beneficial to give our best to our family and friends.
After getting married and graduating college, the weight crept on. Next thing I knew, I had gained over 15 pounds in the year since our wedding and weighed 40 pounds heavier than I had been 4 years before when graduating high school. My husband and I were introduced to p90x, a program from a company called Beachbody. We started drinking Shakeology, a superfood shake, on a daily basis and that combined with the workouts allowed us to lose significant weight. A year later and I was down 40 pounds through hard work with exercise and nutrition.
Fast forward a few years and we had two girls in 22 months. When our second daughter was two months old, I was given the opportunity to try a fitness and nutrition plan called the 21 Day Fix. I had seen my friends had great results just a few months prior when I was very pregnant and knowing my success with Beachbody programs in the past, I decided to get started. My first round, I lost 6 pounds and 8.25 inches. I was blown away! I had more energy with a 2 year old and 3 month old than I had in years, despite troubling newborn sleep. I completed a second round and lost another 4 pounds and 3 inches. The nutrition plan opened my eyes to the nutrients I was lacking in my life as well as the proper portions I should be consuming. Following two rounds of the 21 Day Fix, my husband and I completed a new Beachbody program called the Master’s Hammer and Chisel together. I continued to lose weight and inches and have become stronger than I have ever been. I am no longer scared to lift heavy and know that strength training is an important part of my healthy life now.
